Dine & Donate: Historic Village in Ocean View +Ocean View IPA Label Reveal
September 9, 2026
📍 Ocean View Brewing Company – Ocean View, Delaware
Join us at Ocean View Brewing Company on September 9 as we partner with the Historic Village in Ocean View for a special Dine & Donate benefiting their preservation and education efforts.
Not only have the brewers craft a new batch of the Historic Village IPA, as part of the event, we’ll be revealing the new Ocean View IPA label design, inspired by the history of our little town and one of Ocean View’s most surprising claims to fame.
In 1923, right here in Ocean View, Cecile Long Steele raised 500 chickens for meat instead of eggs and unknowingly helped launch the modern broiler industry. Her story changed agriculture across the country and put our small coastal town on the map.
That history is still part of Ocean View today. At the Historic Village of Ocean View, guests can see a replica of Cecile Steele’s original chicken house, honoring the place where it all began.
To celebrate, we’ll have a Ocean View IPA sticker available for guests while supplies last.
Dine with us, raise a glass, and help support the Historic Village of Ocean View as they continue preserving and sharing the stories that make our town special.
Fun Facts
Cecile Steele’s house is the building across the street that is now Café on 26.
The modern broiler industry began by accident when Cecile ordered 50 chickens and was shipped 500.
Great beer. Great food. Good times — and a little local history.
